2022 Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 Review – My Attitude My Bike : Hello friends, if you are thinking of buying a “Bike” and you have no detailed idea about car, I welcome you to this blog. Today I will let you know – “2022 Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 Review”.

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 isn’t just a solid new release. Looking like something straight of an apocalyptic zombie flick, this stylish urban motorcycle has all the features you could want, and it comes with the Husqvarna reputation for being a solid workhorse of a machine. The ruggedness of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 starts with a set of Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires on the 17-inch rims. Husqvarna equipped the Svartpilen 125 with hydraulic ByBre brakes and the Bosch ABS technology, giving you superior control over the bike regardless of conditions.

The WP APEX 43 mm open cartridge forks pair nicely with the WP APEX rear shock for better handling and a smoother ride. Powering the bike is a 125 cc BS-VI compliant engine that offers plenty of power while preserving fuel. The engine features a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled design and has a twin overhead camshaft. It can produce 15 horsepower and 12Nm of torque, which it feeds into a six-speed gearbox. You can expect to get about a 62 mile per hour top speed out of the Svartpilen 125.

Specification of 2022 Husqvarna Svartpilen 125

The new 125 cc, entry-level Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 has been introduced as an entry-level model from the Swedish motorcycle brand. Like the rest of the Svartpilen and Vitpilen line-up, the Svartpilen 125 also shares a lot with the KTM 125 Duke. That’s because KTM owns the Husqvarna brand, and like other small-displacement KTMs and Huskies, the Svartpilen 125 will also be made in India, at Bajaj Auto’s manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. Bajaj owns 48 per cent stake in KTM. For now, the Svartpilen 125 is expected to be introduced in Europe, but considering the KTM 125 Duke’s success in India, the Svartpilen 125 is also quite likely to be introduced in India.

The Husqvarna Svartpilen125 shares its engine and chassis with the KTM 125 Duke, so it will get the same 125 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which makes 14.7 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 12 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. Unlike the KTM though, the Svartpilen 125 gets a side-mounted exhaust, and the components are high-quality. Brakes are ByBre, Brembo’s Indian made brand, with a 320 mm front disc gripped by a four-piston caliper. And up front are 43 mm WP Apex forks, and a preload adjustable WP Apex rear shock, both with 142 mm travel.

2022 Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 Review : Powertrain & Range

Husqvarna expanded its burgeoning Svartpilen lineup downward with the addition of the entry-level “125” model, the smallest in the family. A 125 cc thumper drives a rugged machine that has clear urban DNA with a dual-sport bent. The lightweight and narrow-waisted 125 both enables and encourages the use of body English so you can practice and get accustomed to shifting around on a bike. For our friends in areas with tiered learner’s permits, the 125 comes “A1” compliant right off the showroom floor to make it even more accessible for younger riders.

A liquid-cooled thumper takes care of business with 14.7 horsepower on tap for a top speed right around 75 mph. Technically that’s enough for interstate work, though I’d feel better with another 10 mph for roll-on at speed, personally me. The 58 mm bore and 47.2 mm stroke puts the displacement at 125 cc . Engine control falls to the Bosch EMS, and that’s about the closest the 125 comes to higher electronics. At this displacement and price point, it’s unsurprising that it rolls with the essentials and little else. I’d argue that makes it even more suitable as an entry-level machine.

A six-speed transmission helps you keep the engine in its usable power band, and the final drive is a tough o-ring chain-and-sprocket setup. Yeah, you can probably guess that it likes to be wound up tighter than Dick’s hatband, but that’s the way it is with thumpers. At least it comes with a balance shaft that takes a lot of sting out of the zing. This engine meets or exceeds BS-VI emissions standards.

2022 Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 Review : Performance

The Svartpilen 125 carries a tall scrambler-style handlebar which, combined with the 835mm seat, delivers a spacious riding position, with an upright stance – making the baby Husqvarna an ideal traffic tool. The light clutch action and crisp-but-controllable throttle response help, too.

This stance also delivers heaps of confidence, with predictable handling aided by the improbably excellent grip from the knobbly Pirelli tyres. It steers very neutrally, much more like a downsized KTM 690 single than the more nervous behaviour of, say, a Honda CB125F, and that Indo-Italian ByBre brake package is excellent. Engine braking is quite good, too, presumably thanks to a high compression ratio.

The only thing I was less than impressed with was that the quite narrow seat seems more designed for form than function – what minimal foam there is feels firm, leading to a semi- numb bum, but that wouldn’t be a problem on short commutes.

Our Opinion

What holds more significance is that like Duke 125 and other Husqvarna models, this Svartpilen 125 is also likely to be launched in India. Moreover, Duke 125 is a very popular model in India and if priced right, its Swedish cousin can also find many takers. Once launched in India, it will likely be priced lower than the Duke 125, which is priced at Rs 1.55 lakhs, Ex-Showroom.
