The 2023 Ocean is a new all-electric SUV from Fisker. The company’s website says select models will arrive sometime this year. Fisker has announced preliminary pricing for the entire Ocean lineup. However, the company hasn’t said how much the destination fee will be, so we can only estimate each trim’s starting price. Initially, we think the Ocean Ultra, with its all-wheel-drive powertrain and more desirable standard equipment, looks to be the best value.

Inside Features of 2023 Fisker Ocean EV
At present times, the world is working towards sustainability, and so is Fisker. The Fisker Ocean’s interior is constructed using recycled materials which also include plastic, renewed rubber, and clothing. This is inevitably a very wise and environmentally friendly twist towards the automobile industry. Not just this, but even the cabin inside this car is futuristic and elegant.
The Fisker Ocean EV car will have a 17.1-inch touch screen Control Panel on the Dash control panel, But this particular feature is only available in the Fisker Ocean premium version. The car has a capacity to fit 5. Fisker Ocean Ev has plenty of room inside it.
Outside Design of 2023 Fisker Ocean EV
The Fisker Ocean design speaks for itself. The hood and rear-end of the vehicle catch your eye no matter which direction you view it from. At 5′ 10″, or 70 inches in height, we could see over the top of the vehicle. The Fisker Ocean has a length of 188″, height of 64.2″, width of 78.5″, and wheelbase of 115″. The OpenSky roof is impressive, making it the largest “sunroof” we’ve ever seen in person next to a convertible. We can’t wait to see the SolarSky roof the next time we’re up close with a newer Fisker Ocean prototype.
Powertrain Specifications of 2023 Fisker Ocean EV
The entry point into the 2023 Ocean lineup is the Sport model, which features a single electric motor powering the front wheels. With 275 horsepower on tap, it’s expected to go from zero to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds. The Ultra and Extreme (and the limited-edition One) have an electric motor on each axle that creates all-wheel drive. With a total system output of up to 550 horses, the quickest version is estimated to sprint from a stop to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. All models are fitted with 20-inch wheels on low-rolling-resistance tires. A set of performance tires mounted on 22-inch rims are also available. The front-drive Ocean is rated to tow 2040 pounds, while all-wheel-drive examples can pull 4000 pounds.
The Ocean comes with different size batteries, but Fisker hasn’t released their useable capacity. Still, the EPA estimates the single-motor model can travel 250 miles on a single charge. With dual motors, that range estimate can exceed 350 miles. The Ocean is also compatible with most EV charging stations, and Fisker has partnered with Electrify America to provide owners with an unspecified amount of complimentary charging. The Ocean’s exact charging times haven’t been released, either, but we’re told the available roof-mounted solar panels (called SolarSky) can supply up to 2000 miles of range per year under ideal conditions. However, that claim remains to be seen.

Features of 2023 Fisker Ocean EV
Notably, Fisker shared the inspiration for the name of the vehicle. Fisker was apparently inspired by a walk on the beach in which he saw lots of plastic waste in the sand. The problem of plastic waste in the ocean is quite huge, so Fisker thought he could use recycled materials heavily in the vehicle to help reduce this problem. Thus, the “Ocean” was named.
In the tour of the vehicle, Fisker showed off the many ways these recycled materials are used in the car’s fully vegan interior. The carpets are made of recycled bottles and fishing nets. The dash accents are made of recycled T-shirts. The rubber around the rear window is made from recycled tires.
Speaking of the rear window, there’s a rare feature there — it rolls down. This will allow for the loading of longer items, things that wouldn’t usually fit inside a car. For example, perhaps when driving your Ocean to the ocean, you might want to bring your surfboard.
Some gas vehicles have had this in the past, but designers quickly found out that because of aerodynamic eddies at the back of the vehicle, exhaust fumes could come in through the rear window which was unhealthy for occupants. Luckily this isn’t a problem for an electric vehicle, so the rear window is liberated to be openable again, allowing more cargo flexibility. The car also has a pretty big trunk, which Fisker demonstrated by climbing out of it to start the presentation:
The car’s infotainment system uses a large center touchscreen, which is becoming more common in cars these days. Fisker has added a bottom bar of commonly used commands for easy access. This bottom bar incorporates haptic touch feedback, so you can more easily adjust frequent settings without taking your eyes off the road. These settings include fan speed, temperature, home button, an up-down selection control, and volume.
Fisker says that the ownership experience of the Ocean will be more flexible than others due to integration with their phone app. Fisker plans to offer cars through their app, with an easy ownership experience including the ability to choose your own lease term, rather than having to go with a standard two- or three-year lease. The lease will offer 30,000 miles per year, which should be more than enough for the vast majority of drivers.
Overall, the Fisker Ocean exterior and interior exceeded our expectations. There is a lot of pent up enthusiasm to see and sit in the Fisker Ocean. Plain and simple. The Fisker Ocean delivered. We can now tick that one off our list. Next up, is either seeing a newer prototype with more bells and whistles, like the marketing vehicles Henrik mentioned when we interviewed him, or test driving a production intent Fisker Ocean.
