Audi e-tron GT Review 2022 – My Dream My Car : Hello friends, if you are thinking of buying a “Car” and you have no detailed idea about car, I welcome you to this blog. Today I will let you know – “Audi e-tron GT Review 2022”.

The Audi e-tron GT is an extremely impressive entry into the high-end electric sports saloon class from the German brand. The 2022 Audi e-tron GT is the sport version of an electric car and delivers consistent performance, fast charging, and a luxurious interior.

The more luxurious end of the electric-car market is filling out nicely, with plenty of options for those with plenty of cash to spend on a pure-electric car from a prestigious manufacturer. The latest arrival is the Audi e-tron GT, a four-door coupe-styled saloon that’s ready to take on the Tesla Model S.

The E-Tron GT is Audi’s third and fourth fully-electric vehicles. Based on the J1 platform which also underpins the Porsche Taycan, the E-Tron GT duo feature four-doors, five seats, and — despite the swoopy profile — a trunk in the back. Audi previously used the GT moniker on the Coupe, which was sold here from 1984-1988.

Briefly of Audi e-tron GT 2022

Despite the Audi e-tron GT being introduced as all-new vehicles for the 2022 model year, Audi has made some changes to the all-electric vehicles for 2023. While the 2023 Audi e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT receive a few changes, they’re mostly the same as the current sedans that are on sale.

For 2023, the e-tron GT lineup receives a body-color grille and a second charging port on the passenger side. The all-electric sedan now comes with 20-inch all-season tires as standard. The RS e-tron GT is available with a new Ceramic Brake Package that includes 21-inch wheels and Antracite calipers. The overall design of the e-tron GT carries over unchanged.

Audi e-tron GT Review 2022 – My Dream My Car

Audi e-tron GT Review 2022

Menacing yet elegant, the striking exterior appearance of the Audi e-tron demands respect from every angle. Although sharing approximately the same length as the Audi A7, the e-tron GT is both lower and wider, complemented by its bold 20-inch alloy wheels. Up front, its inverted Singleframe grille cascades towards the rear with a sloping roofline.

Helping to achieve its remarkably low 0.24 drag coefficient are radiator and brake duct air inlets that can close when not needed to optimize aerodynamics. RS e-tron GT models are constructed with a class-exclusive lightweight, high-strength, five-layer carbon fiber reinforced plastic roof. For the ultimate in visibility, you can choose available HD Matrix-design headlights with Audi laser light on the Audi e-tron GT.

As you may be able to tell from its overall profile, the e-tron GT shares much under the metal with its Volkswagen Group stablemate the Porsche Taycan: it’s based on the same platform as that car and uses much of the same technology. The e-tron GT gets a look all of its own, however, blending Audi’s trademark front and rear styling treatments into a more modern silhouette.

That feeling continues inside, where a set of big infotainment screens are carried across from other larger models in Audi’s range. The design is largely familiar, but tweaked to suit the increase in real estate offered by the car’s pure-electric underpinnings. Those switching from a more traditional Audi model won’t actually be that shocked – and that’s exactly how the brand wants it.

The Audi e-tron GT is equipped with a 93kWh battery and two electric motors, which together produce 469bhp in the ‘entry-level’ e-tron GT quattro version. A 298-mile range is promised, along with a 4.1-second 0-62mph time – pretty impressive for a 2,347kg car. If that’s not enough, there’s also the RS e-tron GT, which ups the power output to 590bhp for even more scorching performance. The RS’ higher performance does impact range, however: the maximum expected figure in this case is reduced to 283 miles.

Charging speed is just as impressive as the performance figures, with a maximum rate of 270kW allowing for a 0-80% charge in 21 minutes – if you can find a quick enough public charger. It’s this sort of performance that’ll help the e-tron GT take on conventionally powered rivals alongside its more obvious electric competitors.

Overall, the e-tron GT looks set to be a good option at the upper end of the market – not only as an alternative to the Taycan or Model S, but also as the flagship model for a brand that’s on a rapid course to electrifying its whole line-up. For a more detailed verdict on the Audi e-tron GT (and the RS e-tron GT).

Specification of Audi e-tron GT 2022

The Audi E-Tron GT has a starting price of $100,945, which nets you a 496-horsepower dual-motor powertrain, 14-way heated vegan seats, three-chamber air suspension, and 20-inch wheels. If you desire more punch, the RS E-Tron GT begins at $140,945, which adds nearly a hundred more horsepower as well as a heaping dose of carbon-fiber bits, a Bang and Olufsen sound system, and surface-coated brakes. (They’re just like the ones first seen on the 2019 Porsche Cayenne.) If exclusivity is your thing, a Year One Package ($20,350) adds even more carbon fiber, a leather interior, and ceramic brakes behind 21-inch wheels.

Audi offers the e-tron GT family with standard safety features that include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, parking sensors, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, front and rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring. Available safety features include lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, park assist, and a surround-view parking camera.

Audi e-tron GT Review 2022 : Frist Impressive Looks

The 2022 Audi e-tron GT is the premium sports sedan that you have been searching for. As an all-new model, the e-tron GT raises the bar with a fresh, athletic look and an all-electric powertrain. The e-tron GT is also dressed up with the elite materials and technologies you expect from an Audi. The premium materials in the spacious cabin are produced from recycled products, aligned with the car’s green design.

They are combined with technologies like a navigation system, night vision, smart device integration, and a heads-up display. The e-tron GT’s advanced safety assist features include remote parking assistance, a lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision mitigation. The e-tron has a long, lowered presence on the exterior with the smooth flow throughout the profile. The large LED headlights are mounted at an angle to accent the rounded nose and the deep groove in the hood.

The two trim levels for the 2022 Audi e-tron GT are the Quattro and the RS. These are both powered by the same two electric on each axle. They also both have all-wheel drive, a launch control mode, and a two-speed transmission.

The lower-level trim has a 522-horsepower output, and this improves to 636 horsepower with the RS trim level. Additional equipment under the hood includes an adaptive air suspension system, all-wheel steering, and tungsten-carbide brake rotors. During your upcoming visit to Audi Farmington Hills, you will be able to take both trim levels out for a behind-the-wheel comparison.

Audi e-tron GT Review 2022 : Power & Performance

The e-tron GT offers explosive powertrains in both versions; even the non-RS versions are plenty quick, scooting from 0-60 mph in under four seconds. Both versions of the e-tron GT come with a dual-motor setup that places one electric motor at each axle for standard all-wheel drive. The two e-tron GT models share the same basic setup, but software differences allow the RS to pull much more power from the 93.4-kWh battery pack the two models share. The e-tron GT outputs 496 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque at most times, though a boost feature jumps those figures up to 522 hp and 472 lb-ft in bursts. The RS produces 590 hp and 612 lb-ft, and it too can be boosted up to 637 hp.

This prodigious power output allows the e-tron GT to make the sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds, while the RS turns in a supercar-esque time of just 3.1 seconds. Both models feature launch control that’s extremely easy to activate. Flip the car into its “Dynamic” drive mode, stand on the brake, and floor the accelerator. The digital speedometer blips to let you know it’s turned on and once you drop the brake pedal the e-tron GT springs forward with a snap. Make sure you warn passengers to put their heads back before you do this in either model. While the e-tron GT seems to taper off a bit over 70 mph, the RS has no such problems pushing past highway speeds with ease and feeling more robust off the line, unsurprisingly.

Underneath, the e-tron GT and RS come with a standard three-chamber adaptive air suspension. A Performance package is offered on the e-tron that also adds a rear torque vectoring system, power steering boost at low speeds, and rear-wheel steering (all of those features are standard on the RS except for the rear-wheel steering). This suspension skews toward comfort and does a good job of controlling rebound, making the e-tron GT an exceptional cruiser for long trips. Audi does a good job of building steering resistance off center perfect for curvy, canyon roads. RS models come with standard carbide brakes with larger front and rear rotors, with a ceramic brake package optional.

The e-tron GT tops out at 238 miles of estimated range. Despite the difference in power between the two models, range estimates are quite close: 238 miles for the e-tron GT and 232 miles for the RS. The e-tron GT offers 82 combined MPGe (the RS is 81 combined MPGe) with its 93.4-kwh battery pack. For comparison, the Lucid Air Grand Touring gets 131 MPGe and the Tesla Model S (non-Plaid) offers 120 MPGe, and both vehicles have larger battery packs. Where the e-tron GT excels is by offering an 800-volt architecture, and with 800-volt DC fast-charging it can fill the battery from 5% to 80% in just 22 minutes, provided you can find a charging station that will deliver close to the vehicle’s 270-kw maximum charging power. Audi is also providing a three year complimentary DC fast-charging plan for buyers via Electrify America.

The e-tron GT has yet to be crash tested yet by the IIHS or the NHTSA, but it does come with a strong set of standard and available safety features. Automatic forward emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warnings, and blind spot monitors all come on every e-tron GT. A surround view camera system, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control are also available.

Audi e-tron GT Review 2022 : Range and Battery Life

With the debut of the Audi e-tron GT, the world has never seen a more invigorating way to make the switch to an all-electric sports car. Signature performance attributes of the e-tron GT include its three-chamber air suspension, all-wheel steering, electric propulsion system, and two-speed transmission. Located at both the front and rear axles are permanently excited synchronous motors (PSM), delivering up to 522 horsepower in the e-tron GT and 637 horsepower in the RS e-tron GT (with overboost engaged).

Boasting a 0-60 mph time of just 3.1 seconds and a 155 MPH top track speed, the RS e-tron GT is on par with the V10-powered Audi R8 supercar – all while producing zero direct emissions. Developed on the iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife race circuit, the three-chamber air suspension of the e-tron GT is ready to adapt to all types of high-speed cornering situations.

A 93.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides an EPA-estimated range of up to 238 miles. Charging is nearly effortless as well thanks to its 270 kW DC fast-charging capabilities, charging from 5-80% in just 22.5 minutes. Finally, the Audi e-tron GT proves that an EV can demonstrate all of the signature characteristics of a true grand tourer.

Audi e-tron GT Review 2022 : Comfort Driving

The entry-level E-Tron GT has an electric motor at each axle putting out a total of 469 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels; power is boosted to 522 hp and 472 lb-ft with overboost enabled or when using launch control. The GT’s Porsche twin, the Taycan 4S, has 40 fewer horses in normal driving but the same overboost figure. Audi says the E-Tron GT will hit 60 mph in 3.9, and it’s more than quick enough both off the line in daily situations and when passing on the highway. Like the Porsche, the Audi uses a two-speed transmission that provides a unique EV driving experience and makes a cool sound when it shifts, but I wish the E-Tron’s artificial “engine” sounds were more interesting.

Basically every modern EV has great acceleration stats, though, and luckily the E-Tron GT is great to drive overall. Air suspension is standard and provides a nice, supple ride with minimal body roll. My test car is equipped with the $6,000 performance package, which adds rear-wheel steering and torque vectoring along with a gloss black exterior trim, rad matrix LED headlights and other cosmetic bits. While its steering isn’t as razor-sharp as the Taycan’s, the E-Tron GT’s electronic power steering is quick and direct, especially with the car in Dynamic mode. Even with these Pirelli Cinturato P7 all-season tires the E-Tron GT is very fun to take on a spirited run up a twisty road; it’s the type of car I don’t want to stop driving.

One area where the E-Tron GT is objectively superior to the Taycan is its range. The E-Tron GT has a 93.4-kilowatt-hour battery pack and is rated at 238 miles of range, while the standard Taycan 4S uses a 79.2-kWh pack and has 199 miles of range. The Porsche is available with the same larger pack as the Audi for $5,570, but that model still trails the E-Tron GT’s range by 11 miles. Both cars have minimal regenerative braking, which is disappointing. While the E-Tron GT’s brakes are plenty strong I wish it had a true one-pedal drive mode, something I’ve come to enjoy even for sporty driving.

Audi e-tron GT Review 2022 : Infotainment and Connectivity

While the e-tron GT’s infotainment system isn’t as touchscreen-heavy as other Audi models’ such as the A7 sedan and e-tron SUV, it’s still visually exciting and loaded with popular content. The central touchscreen measures 10.1 inches and works with steering-wheel-mounted controls and voice-recognition software. Along with a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, the e-tron GT is available with wireless charging and a powerful 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Our Opinion

As an overall package the Audi e-tron GT 2022 Electric is an impressive car. It offers buyers a choice of versions, has an appealing design and an interior that is far better than anything the brand has previously offered for sale. The electric drivetrain and charging system’s performance gives the Audi an edge over many of its rivals.
